Aiskhylosfilms presents timeless themes of the Juhani Aho'S novel and the developement of society to what is it nowadays. The film deals with ideological changes of society and the transformation of culture from comprehensive christian culture to freedom of an individual, witch lately became known as the individualism of the 19th century.
THE DIARY OF A COUNTRY PRIEST (60 min.)
Story of a young priest living in the finnish contryside in 1910's and dealing with questions of powerty, helplessness and sickness as a integral nature of human being.
Based on the story of Georges Bernanos.
At the moment in post-production phase is up-coming art-house film The Island (estimate 120 min.). The film tells about a man who founds a tolstoyan-anarchistic sect on his farm at an island. He is a fisherman and land owner who seeks the meanig of life with separateing himself from capitalistic society.
The Film Ompelijatar, 70 min. (2017) tells about a priest who struggles with the question of disbelief. Film is a poetic story which deals with theological discussions in main characters brains and unexpected cruelty of people.
Same time there is in post-production a shorter movie Hunter (32 min.), which tells, in a poetic and philosophical way, of one man´s dystophic survival after the end of the civilization. The world then is a place where almost all colours have faded away as a result of a massive nuclear explosion. And then comes permanent nuclear winter.
